WD Rule three is entitled 'Reunions are things that everyone looks forward to.'

Previous rule two: The ratio between how well you slept and how well your day will go is undeniable.

Next rule four: 'People changing is fine, it's people changing too fast that's troublesome.'

-Short summary-

The team finally reunites and their 'boss' Matilde gives them their first assignment.

-Long summary-

Matilde lies on a sheet on her stomach with a news paper in front of her. Her head rests on her palm and she uses her free hand to flip through the pages before stopping at one and reading it with intense interest. She then sits up and calls down below for Wargle, who seemingly doesn't hear her. She makes a face and kicks a nearby bucket down and hears a thud and yelp. In a few moments Wargle appears on a ladder to her right with a bucket on his head that still fails to hide a very sour expression. Despite this he asks very cordially if Matilde needs anything, and she points at the paper asking if he's already read it. Wargle removes the bucket from his head and replies that no one reads the paper anymore. He has an online subscription that pings him whenever there's a news story that matches his preset interests. In short, he already read it on his phone this morning and knows all about it's content. Considering she's part of the generation which grew up with electronics you'd think she'd be having this conversation with him and not vice versa.

Matilde sighs and replies that her occupation as 'hellion' kind of makes it difficult for her to keep phones for very long, and net cafes are under her. 'Sides, she likes being able to read things in print, especially if it's about things she's done. Seems more real that way. Now however is a completely different matter since she's apparently got some really unwanted attention. Wargle concurs, though he doesn't blame the Govt for taking these actions. She does have a reputation after all. Matilde sighs and flops on her back, being careful not to roll off the sheet. Sure this would be great normally, but right now it's bad news. Luckily she's got a team of trouble shooters on their way so thing should be fine. Wargle's expression indicates he's not quite as enthusiastic, but he admits he agreed to follow her down this path so there's no point of crying about it now. He then adds that she could help clean this place since she chose it as their base of operations. He and Mizuki can't do everything on their own, and she can read the paper later. Matilde stares up at the ceiling and asks if they want to make a lunch run before the team gets here which Wargle fumes at and drops his cordial demeanor nearly ordering her to help. Matilde smiles and replies that their team will do the work later, as she's already got their 'motivation' to help ready. She managed to snag a net connection and do the work last night, and she's sure after seeing that Lukas and his team will have no choice but to help her.

Wargle's eyebrow rises slightly and he asks what that is, and Matilde promises show-and-tell will go down later. For now she's tired after working all night and is hungry. Wargle takes the hint and climbs down the ladder, but not without muttering his complaints. Matilde opens the paper again and stares at a certain article for a few minutes before rising and strolling over to a nearby laptop.

Lukas and Yelena sit in the living room of his aunt's house eating lunch and talking. Yelena had only met Lukas's mother figure once, and it hadn't been for long so he hopes they'll be able to make up for lost time. He had been worried how his aunt would react to him dating a Caucasian girl, but she assured him that as long as he's happy she's fine with anyone he brings home. After all he'd be the one with his girlfriend, and not her so it only makes sense he should pursue someone to his liking. Lukas had always appreciated that about his aunt, even right down to her respecting his privacy.

Though if he were to say he was fully attentive to the ladies's chat, he'd be lying. It's taking most of his willpower to not whip out his phone and call Matilde. She had promised to get back to him about the status of his co-workers and friends, to let him know if they are alive or....otherwise. He remembers what Yelena had said too, about if they even want to come back and figures that he's fine if they don't want to as long as they're healthy and the decision is made free of any duress. He hadn't been attacked by anyone yet but that could reasonably change at any moment. He then feels eyes on him and notices that the conversation had stopped and the women are silently regarding him while drinking their refreshments. Lukas apologetically bows his head and confesses he's awaiting a certain call. His aunt asks if it is related to the job he had mentioned in his message to her? Lukas nods and replies that he's waiting to see if his old co-workers are still interested in the position and then they'd go from there. She shares his enthusiasm for returning to work, revealing that she (like Yelena) can't see Lukas getting a normal nine to five or adjusting well to college life. He's a lot like his father who has to be in the center of the action. Lukas makes a face and leans his head against his arm asking why they need to bring him up now of all times. Yelena adds she'd like to meet his father someday as all she knows comes from the notebook they read three years ago. Lukas points out that he's a criminal and is probably hiding somewhere from the law, so she shouldn't hold her breath in hope of meeting him. Lukas's aunt then reveals that he's not really hiding since he was there just a few days ago. Lukas nearly knocks over the table with the force he hits it upon standing up. Yelena simply lifts her glass to keep it from falling, and auntie keeps the plates still. Lukas manages to sputter his question, asking why he came, and more importantly why had she kept this from him?

Auntie answers the questions in the order they were asked. He hadn't stayed long, and didn't really talk much. He asked how Lukas was doing and if he had been in any trouble lately. She told him that as far as she knew he's fine, and had asked him why he's suddenly so concerned. Since Clarkson is a big name in Luciano's mob, it's strange he'd even have time to worry about Lukas or to make a house call for that matter. He had only stated after that how Lukas had suddenly become 'hot', and he wanted to look out for him. Since he hasn't had any trouble however maybe his worries were unfounded? Auntie then states he left soon after that, without saying where he's going or explaining what any of his cryptic sayings had meant. As for the second question, she knows how little he likes his father and decided not to bother him since she couldn't figure out what he had come for. Lukas quickly figures out that his Dad had somehow found out about Matilde's deal, and how it had expired. Though he agrees with his aunt that it's strange his Dad would come out of the woodwork now since he had been in dangerous spots when he worked for the Govt before. It's either that he's in really serious trouble now, or there's something specific that his father is worried about. He pontificates over the meaning of this until a buzz up his leg shakes him out of it. Lukas almost rips his pocket out reaching for the phone, and is annoyed that it's a text and not a call, and furthermore it's from a number he doesn't recognize. The message simply reads 'DC. Now', and then lists an address in the Southeast. (Lukas can tell because of the zipcode.) The ladies both gaze at him and he explains this might be the boss contacting him about the job offer, and he'll have to go. His aunt asks him if he'll still have dinner with them, and he responds that it depends how long the interview will go. This is a new boss who is pretty eccentric, so he's going to have to play the game her way....for now.  Yelena stands as well and thanks Auntie for the meal. She replies that the two should be careful, and call her back later with the dinner plans, so she knows where to meet. They promise to do so and exit.

Lukas puts the location in his phone's GPS and hands it to Yelena in the passenger's seat. She then asks him what he meant with that last 'for now' comment? Does he intend to fight Matilde for supremacy? Lukas shakes his head and replies with his suspicions; Matilde wants he and his buddies to essentially act as her body guards. People don't need body guards if they haven't done anything wrong (usually), or are not planning to do something wrong. Especially since 'Satan's child' had made it clear she is most impressed with their abilities. Abilities that are all about doing things. Needless to say he has no intention of blindly doing her bidding, especially since he knows what kind of character she is. Besides, this might be an opportunity to bring her down! If he plays his cards right he---no their team could be the group that brings down 'Satan's child'! Yelena regards the phone for a moment before stating she's not fond of this method of thinking...it sounds like a good way to get killed. She's never met Matilde or Mugen, but she sounds like one dangerous individual. She wouldn't have survived this long if she weren't smart and vigilant. If she even sniffs him trying to snipe at her from behind, Lukas and the team could find themselves dead. Lukas focuses forward and replies that he'll just have to make sure she doesn't see him coming then.

The two arrive at the address indicated, and climb out to see a rundown factory. Lukas narrows his eyes and asks if she could have chosen a more suspicious place to ask him to meet? Yelena glances around and sees an open door and points to it. Lukas tells his girlfriend to stay close to him and the two make their way down to the door way and inside, taking care to glance around each corner before they make a move. They soon get to a dark room which has only open space with no where to hide, and wait nervously for something to happen. Lukas suddenly hears something fall over, and he turns quickly to the source of the sound which is an oil drum falling to it's side. He then glances in Yelena's direction to find that she's gone, and he's apparently alone. Lukas grits his teeth and turns to the direction where he last saw her, but is attacked by a kick to his side from someone. The ex spy quickly collects himself and defends against another kick, and delivers a punch of his own. His fist meets nothing but air however, and he finds himself taking a kick in the back. He wonders how this person acquired night vision, and futilely strikes out in the darkness. He then decides to let the person come to him, and stands still for a second. When he hears a kick in process, he quickly reaches out and grabs the person's leg flipping them to the ground with ease. Unfortunately they manage to get his legs and he falls down and finds himself in a leg lock. Lukas struggles to free himself, all while beginning to realize how familiar this whole situation is.....despite himself he starts grinning and comments that this is one hell of a greeting.

The lights above suddenly flare on and Lukas finds Meifa administering a perfect ju-jitsu leg lock on him. Lukas's grin doesn't fade and he asks if she'll let him go? Meifa looks at him for a moment and continues her lock, and Lukas's smile fades. He then tries to pry her off, but Meifa seems to be a bit stronger than when he last met her and he is unable to. He lies back trying to think of a way to get her off and finds Heike standing over him with a camera and a shit eating grin. Lukas commands Heike to get her off of him, and he replies that anyone who could get suckered into having a photo like that taken of them deserves this much at least. Lukas asks what picture he's talking about, and Heike smacks his forehead. Not even knowing about the said picture is even WORSE. Lukas spies Mo playing with her cellphone and begins to ask for her help, but he realizes that's a losing prospect and drops it. Nolan sighs and asks if at least their reunion could have some decorum, and Meifa growls to him that dipshit started it by being a fuckup. How could he possibly have let somebody kidnap him? He can't even act like a proper hostage since he came right back to his kidnapper's hideout! Nolan agrees that it is Lukas's folly, but killing him here won't make anyone feel better. Meifa points out it would make her feel better, and Nolan quickly amends his statement to include that. Chiaki appears at his side with Yelena, who smiles innocently and adds that she didn't know this would happen, but caught wind of the prank when Chiaki had grabbed her. Lukas starts to complain but is too overcome with relief that his team is okay, and simply asks how everyone is doing? Everyone simultaneously makes a 'so-so' motion with their hands, and Lukas's eyebrow rises. Meifa gets bored, lets him go and gets to her feet. Lukas stands up as well and realizes that Meifa has probably only grown an inch or two from when they last met so he almost towers over her. Meifa notices this and shoots him a sour expression enough to melt glass and asks if he has something to say. Lukas shrugs and looks in another direction, claiming that she's imagining things.

Meifa is wearing a black top and cutoff jeans with red high tops. Her frizzy orange hair hasn't changed in length and still reaches to slightly below her shoulders. Her expression is still stuck in permanent scowl, and her skin tone has lightened just a smidgen. Her right golden eye shoots Lukas (and his height) eye beams of death, while the left one is covered by a bandage which is attached to a string that goes around her head. She then growls at Lukas claiming he owes her grievance since she had to get a ride from her twin sister Karoline in order to get here so fast. Lukas blinks surprised that Meifa worried about him enough to leave her mom and come here quickly. He begins to thank her but she flips him the bird and tells him to die. Lukas half grins and backs away from her, not wanting to be the victim of another leg lock. He then notices that someone is missing, but before he can give that any more thought a voice rings out from afar asking the 'plebians' if they're happy?

Matilde, Wargle and Mizuki descend from above on a lift upon reaching floor level Matilde asks her question again. The group regards her with silent pensiveness, those not knowing who her alter-ego more wary than the others. Matilde cutely puts a finger under her lip and asks if she did something wrong by gathering them together? Nolan asks her about the 'crude' letter, and if she thinks she's amusing? He then asks if she's behind the bombing in Ireland. Matilde whistles, and admits she's surprised the guys after them would up the ante that much, but no she had nothing to do with that. Heike asks her about the 'guys after them', and she turns the floor to Lukas asking him to explain what she had discussed with him. Lukas sucks his teeth and tells them everything about the 'protection', Matilde kidnapping him, and her alter-ego. Everyone balks at the Matilde= Mugen revelation, and she terrorist replies by giving them an enthusiastic peace sign. Heike sums it up that they basically have to protect her if they want to be protected? But she's having problems with guys who want to shorten her life span too right? So why should they even bother? They only came here because they thought Lukas was in trouble due to the photo she sent...

Lukas asks to see the photo, and Mo hands him her phone. His eyes bulge and he begins to rant at Matilde who ignores him. Matilde then asks Mizuki to hand them their 'inspiration to to good things'. Mizuki produces a clear file apparently out of thin air, and hands them all photos. The group takes one look at these pictures and all of their jaws (save Meifa who clenches hers) drop. Each of the photos is a gathering of Sector Seven agents during or after jobs three years ago, though there's one addition...Mugen. There are even some doctored news articles saying that Mugen had secretly funded the group! Lukas manages to stop ranting to sputter a 'w-w-w-w-why?!' to Matilde. Matilde smiles and says that as a group who cares sooooo much for one another, it makes sense to have group photos, no? Photoshop is such a great little tool too, so it was really easy to make it look like she participated in their adventurous romps. Oh, and she even opened a Facebook and tumblr account with the photos because she's so happy to have friends like them. Needless to say that people who are a little jealous of their bond will see these pics and be a little less than happy....

Mo curses that she shouldn't have gotten close to a team, cause now it's going to be harder to do her professional double agent work. Essentially Matilde had put them in the same boat whether they like it or not, and since her enemies are now their enemies, she has the most information on who they are and how to deal with them. If they abandon her, the world will be a very hostile place for them. Meifa cracks her knuckles and replies that she doesn't give a fuck, and will beat 'Mugen' down like she should have three years ago. She lunges at her, but Mizuki is faster and strikes her down with a kick to the face. Matilde whistles innocently and points out that it won't be long until these guys start checking out their families and using them as leverage so it might be in their best interest to cut the grumbling and double up on the helping.

The team glares at Matilde with murder in their eyes, but Lukas stands up and holding back his own rage asks Matilde what kind of job she has in mind? Matilde unfolds the newspaper she was reading earlier and in a tone completely devoid of her earlier playfulness and full instead of the command of a CO giving orders to his soldiers, points at a picture on the paper of a person wearing a dragon hoodie. She says that this person is not her, and she wants them to bring them to DC so she can have a face to face with them. Lukas's eyes ask the question his mouth doesn't, and Matilde can tell. She adds with an expression of pure gleeful malice that she may have to punish this person for bringing unwanted attention down on her. Lukas shudders remembering her look in the van, and Nolan asks how she intends to have them find her imposter? Matilde sighs and makes a pouty face replying that they're the experts, so why should they ask her? Though if she is to have input here then she'd recommend maybe fleecing the Govt for information? They've always got so much that they can afford to hide, no? Lukas can feel the pit of his stomach falling out and his heart tumbling into the sole of his foot. She wants them to break into the very same government that had drummed them out of their jobs three years ago?!

Meanwhile at the Bridalveil falls in Yosemite national park, not Mugen has been surrounded by black suits at the edge of a cliff. Blood drips from his hands, an indication that he has successfully pulled off another assassination. The suits fire at him and he ducks and weaves around the gun fire for a moment until a suit charges him and they engage in hand to hand combat. Another suit fires upon the two, and not Mugen uses his opponent as a meat shield, and kicks him towards his comrades. The suits are temporarily stopped by the sudden movements of their opponent, and by the time the chaos has subsided, not Mugen has disappeared. They look down the falls and don't see a body or any indication that he jumped, which leaves them once again without a clue and without a perp.
