-Short summary-

Azha is sworn in as Dio is 'convinced' by Aine to discuss the origins of the 'Original sin'. Meanwhile the sentient being known as 'Butcher' muses about his next move.

-Long summary.-

It's been three weeks since 'impromptu' election was held in the basement of 'Dover tower', and since then an 'official' election has been run. This is mainly for appearances sake, as with her sound reasoning as a running platform Azha is a shoo in for Kaiser mage. Even those who have their misgivings about a child her age with the position fear the 'end scenario' enough that even an infant could have won...well, an infant with the eyes of a farseer. Although the question on the tips of the peoples tongues are 'where are the others', no one verbalizes this thought out loud. For now at least, even if it is full of tension there is 'peace', and this is what most magicians and non magicians alike want for themselves.  Azha's 'coronation' will be soon, and the event while not mandatory for all, is something that no one wants to miss. Hydon and Lea both prepare the incombant Kaiser mage for her acceptance, as well as Libby and Reid who as Kaiser mage select members have their duties to ensure Azha is safe from anyone who might not be pleased with the election results, as unlikely as it sounds.

Anna Rose, Kani, Guy, and Candle hang around Aerhaart, both to collect themselves and to wait around for Reid who had promised to return to their journey once his Kaiser mage elect duties are done. One doesn't really 'quit' the group, though the lax rules of membership can make it seem that way. Reid had mostly kept his distance from the group, but with all the political fervor of the Kaiser mage election even he had no choice but to help out. His hope is once Azha is sworn in, he can make a break and a quick getaway before anyone notices. He's the sort who prefers to be on the road than stuck in once place very long, though he admits having the position puts him in a better position to help those who need it.

At any rate, Kani has her 'date' (though she'd never describe it that way to anyone.) with Delaney, who had oddly sent a message in an effort to contact her with a day and a place.  She's only marginally interested in what he has to say, but since they're stuck waiting for Reid anyway....

It's around the time of the coronation that Anna Rose suddenly announces that she's going to leave their group. She expresses her joy that she was able to travel with them for a little while, but she's a woman with a mission. She has to find a way to reverse the damage agape had done to Ritcher who had only used alchemy his whole life. Aerhaart had been a bust information wise, but to have been there to witness the election of a new Kaiser mage AND all three goddesses in the same place had more than made up for it. Kani tries to convince her friend's mother to stay, since Van would eventually return to their group...hopefully, and he'd be overjoyed to have his mom around, but Anna Rose declines. She replies that he has grown past needing 'just' her, that he won't be happy until the danger known as the sentients has been eradicated. She'd only be a hindrance to him, and even if she didn't have anything else to do a good mom knows when to embrace, and when to encourage, even if the encouragement sounds more like pushing away.

Though Anna Rose finds herself lecturing Kani again, and she seems to be pretty upbeat about the whole situation, Kani notices what could be considered tears starting to form on her face. Realizing that she's only putting up a front, Kani turns to Guy to stop her but he surprisingly remains mute and turns away. She starts to grow annoyed with him until after some reconsideration she realizes he's trying to support her interests. Sure it would be nice to reunite with her son, but if he had chosen to leave the group in hopes of finding a means to stop the sentients, wouldn't it be selfishness for her to want him back all to herself? Kani forlornly glances at the fighter, and half irritated half understanding realizes that despite his affinity for fisticuffs he probably has the highest understanding of human nature in their group. Kani embraces her 'mother in law', and wishes her a safe journey. Anna Rose is surprised at first, but with tears freely streaming down her face, nods and wishes Kani well too. After she leaves, Guy asks Kani what she'll do once she meets Van again, and she still states her intention to give him a piece of her mind, though she adds this time that she only wants to this time because no one should make their mother cry, even if it is for the greater good.

Azha travels the halls of Dover tower, getting acquainted with the facilities. She really only intends to stay there once in a while, openly stating her preference to stay in the dorms of GMAGY, to the chagrin of the staff. She wants to continue her schooling until she's done, and then..maybe she might move in. Depends on what she's feeling at that time. Hydon leaves the housing arrangements to the staff, and puts himself on the coronation committee. Despite his noticeable hurry to finish the proceedings, he has to give the girl some respect. How she handled the 'triad' was nothing short of monumental, hell she had even managed to shut Delaney up which is worth all kinds of bonus points in his book. Putting aside his earlier thoughts of her flippant attitude, she might just have what it takes to not only preform her job, but excel at it. Behind her cute looks hides dexterity and cunning, and with her farseeing eyes she's rarely if ever wrong. If there is one thing that worries him, however it is the amount of secrecy she demands. Even the acceptance speech had been her work entirely, and she wouldn't reveal it's contents to anyone. Irregardless, she has high potential for being an excellent Kaiser mage.

As the morning turns to evening, dusk is the backdrop for Azha's acceptance speech. She greets everyone with a cheerful hello, as if she's addressing a school assembly and not he people of Aerhaart, no most of the nation. After thanking everyone for coming to see her accept the role of 'Kaiser mage' she states her intention to protect the integrity that Acheron had once enforced, and to serve her people, no everyone from the weak to the strong, to the affluent to the under representative. She doesn't of course intend on being the same sort of person as Acheron, nor does she intend on favoring one side over another. She can only predict and prepare, unlike Acheron who while he couldn't use magic had his means of subverting the rules and becoming one of the most powerful men in the land. She does however promise that 'no matter what', she will prevent the 'end scenario' by any means necessary.

With this, Hydon presents what seems to be a fancy case to Azha while on one knee, and with a nod she pries it open to find what seems to be a skeletal arm. Hydon glances into her eyes, and is surprised to see the young incombant smirk and close the case. He then proclaims that the transfer of power is complete, and Azha Falk is the new 'Kaiser mage'. The crowd erupts into cheers, and the celebrations ensue without incident.

Meanwhile, in Shrewlund, Butcher opens the doors to the throne room and takes a deep breath of the cool night air. He turns behind himself, and the pile of bones that was once Mist of the Silverwind greets him. He walks back over to the pile and prods it with his foot, until his shoe sizzles and he backs away quickly. Butcher has to entertain confusion for the first time, as he's not fully sure of why this phenomenon is occurring. What had she done to her body that even being near it had caused him so much physical discomfort? He's seen plenty die over the eons he's been alive, and THIS has never happened. What had happened to her? It was the strangest thing....not only had her body prevented him from moving, but it had decomposed in rapid fashion. Butcher fancies himself an 'educated sadist', so he really wants to examine this but even touching the remains seems to harm to him.

Baker suddenly appears in the throne room, and reveals that the new Kaiser mage has been sworn in, and she is a female farseer. Butcher stands silently regarding him for a minute, and after adjusting his monocle asks Baker what he thinks of this. Baker shrugs a shoulder and replies that he doesn't think it will affect the plan, and Butcher smirks and says that anything, no matter how small it is affects their plan, his fun. He wants the humans to maraud and maim each other, leaving him to afterwards take care of the stragglers, because they deserve it for how they betrayed the very magic which had given them it's full fledged love. Now by exploiting the rules the angels had created to protect the humans, he is in the best position to have his plan go without a hitch. This girl had not figured into his plans of becoming Kaiser mage, and so there would be an effect, risk. The question is now would it be an acceptable risk? A girl who is unaffected by magic, and can predict the movements of his 'toys'.....she would have to be dealt with.....and he's fairly sure that those 'envoys' despite claiming they'd claim allegiance with him will sell him out the first moment they find it most convenient. Humans are ever so predictable that way, but little do they know that they will only continue to sow the seeds of destruction, no matter what they do, that is unless that girl manages to see through them prematurely.

Baker asks if he intends on killing the new Kaiser mage, which Butcher thinks about. He does have an affinity for watching human women die, since it 'excites his blood'. Something about their faces as life leaves them excites him, especially when he isn't the one to do the deed. However, it is far too soon to know if this girl will pose any more than a passing threat. For now, she lives. This will be as Butcher states it a 'Reasonable Risk'.

Claire finds herself on a grassy field overlooking Aerhaart, deciding on what she should do after meeting with Dio. She depends on him to 'rally the troops', for their cause, so she'll have to find out the true nature of their enemies. It's a scary thing to think about, even now that she knows she's an angel and technically the sentients cant' do anything to her. The unknown of what Butcher and Baker could do is enough to send a shiver down her tiny frame. Despite that, if it's for the humans she cares deeply for, then anything is possible right...?

She hears footsteps behind her, and thinking it's Dio approaching she turns and greets him, but instead is met with Aine, Anu, and Aimend. Aine drags Dio with her, and upon reaching Claire tosses the former god forward and watches with a merciless look as he lands flat on his face. Claire rushes to him, and turns him over to see that his right temple is swollen, indicating where he had been hit. Claire asks what happened, and Dio in a weak voice laughs and says he decided that this is would be the proper time to explain things. Claire asks if he 'decided' that, or was 'forced to'. Dio shrugs and replies that it's the same difference. He goes on to state that the girls weren't all that pleased with what he had to say, despite him not being done talking....

Aine glares at him and then extending her arm it turns into what seems to be an automatic rifle. She points this weapon at Claire and with a lack of any emotion says that she wants to call in their wager. She had heard enough from Dio to know that it is his...no their fault, all of the angels that she and the other goddesses had been made to suffer eternal life, and now possible insanity. Claire starts to speak, but Aine cuts her off and demands she let her abilities do the talking, or die quietly.
