Reaching the city limits,

I look back and find no one pursuing me.

My chest becomes tighter.

I outran my problems.

As well as anyone who might have understood me.

It's always like this...

The cities I dwelled, only temporary stops,

On my marathon of self pity.

Scenery stuck in the corners of my eyes.

Roll out as tears the moment my feet hit the ground.

When will someone outrun me,

Stand in my way; whisper it's okay?

It's always like this..

There should be a limit.

To how far a person can outrun their problems.

Really, living is a sickness.

Trust, belief, and love medicines with no doctrine.

Please grab me.

Wrap your hands around mine and promise not to let go.

Become the place I can run to.

A place dyed twin hues of blue, where land meets sea.

Let me grow tired there....

Legs shivering not from fear but anticipation.

Footsteps irregular; like an exahausted person.

Toes grip the soles of my shoes.

If I turn, will a tragedy, you or both be in pursuit?
