(After having adventures a plenty with Anubis, and defeating Isis Sakaki and his pals are ready to resume their journey in the time flow. Sakaki has a new renewed hope that he will be able to return to the present and his friends who wait for him there. Of course our hero does enjoy hanging out with his new friends Atsuko and Gato….only time will tell which group he’d rather stay with…as for right now Sakaki, Gato, and Atsuko are saying goodbye to Anubis.)

 

 

Sakaki: Episode 9: To get under our Ship! Underground puzzles!

 

Sakaki: Well that’s it for us Anubis!

 

Anubis: I’m glad I could help the three of you out.

 

Atsuko: I only hope my arm can heal soon….

 

(Her arm is in a sling, after breaking it last episode.)

 

Sakaki: I’ll bet you’ll be back to full strength soon enough Atsuko.

 

Atsuko: Yeah you’re probably right….so did the Dilla’s get home ok?

 

Anubis: I’m gonna help move them to a more stable place.

 

Sakaki: That’s good to hear. Shall we go Atsuko?

 

Gato: Can’t we stay for a couple more minutes? Imagine all the worshipers!

 

Sakaki: No way. I’m SO ready to get out of here.

 

Atsuko: Ok you two lets go find the time gate.

 

(They say their good-byes to Anubis and walk outside.)

 

Sakaki: So…where did we park it?

 

Atsuko: I anticipated this happening SOMETIME. So I have a tracking device on my keychain!

 

Sakaki: Wow that’s nifty!

 

(The group follows Atsuko until they get to the desert that they landed in from the beginning.)

Atsuko: We’re definitely getting closer!

 

Gato: So…why don’t I see anything?

 

(True enough the Time gate isn’t to be seen anywhere.

 

Atsuko: He makes a good point….we should definitely see the Time gate…

 

Sakaki: Well let’s just keep following the tracking…probably we will find the Time gate when we go all the way back.

 

(So they keep going until the Keychain begins to pulse.)

 

Sakaki: What does that mean?

 

Atsuko: That it SHOULD be right here.

 

Sakaki: Should?!

 

Atsuko: Well I don’t see it….

 

Gato: Please tell me we haven’t been highjacked….

 

Sakaki: Do you think that kind of thing could happen?

 

Atsuko: Not really…if I’m a native of this time period, if I saw something like the Time gate…my first reaction would be to run…not to steal it. Besides….this is where we landed…and the keychain says that the Time gate is still here.

 

Sakaki: Hmm…wait a second….

 

Gato: Wasn’t there a sandstorm?

 

Sakaki: That’s right!! We got swept away by a sandstorm! Maybe the Time gate is….

 

Gato&Sakaki: UNDER ALL OF THAT SAND?!?!

 

Atsuko: Makes sense…we were away for a long time….

 

Sakaki: We have to dig it out then don’t we?

 

(Sakaki begins to dig as Gato and Atsuko watch.)

 

Sakaki: Hey! You two give me a hand!

 

Atsuko: I’ve only got ONE currently you know.

 

Sakaki: That’s right…and Gato’s pretty much worthless.

 

Gato: Darn stra----HEY!

 

Sakaki: What do we do now?

 

Atsuko: Hmm…I dunno it its much help but…theres a hatch underneath the Time gate….if we could get under there we could possibly get into the Time gate and fly it that way. It can lift quite a bit…so the sand wouldn’t keep it from launching if we could get into it.

 

Sakaki: But…how do we get underneath?

 

Atsuko: Well if that pyramid has underground rooms…there’s bound to be one that leads out here.

 

Gato: Maybe Anubis has an idea of what we should do?

 

Sakaki: Yeah! I’m sure he can help us out!

 

(They head back to Anubis’s place and explain the situation to him.)

 

Sakaki: So that’s what it is.

 

Anubis: Sounds like a major pain….well you’re in luck…because just as Miss Atsuko deduced there ARE tunnels leading out there.

 

Sakaki: Yeah! That’s good news!

 

Anubis: I hate to bring down your mood Sakaki, but the tunnels have tricks and traps in them. You see…they were made to keep grave robbers guessing, and running…

 

Sakaki: Geh….that’s not good.

 

Anubis: Come with me.

 

(They follow him to a room with a blue door. Anubis flips a switch and the door opens upward leading into a dark corridor.)

 

Anubis: If you feel that you’re brave enough to walk through the tunnel then you can go through here.

 

Sakaki: Guys…?

 

Atsuko: Well I need to get the Time gate….late fees can totally mess up a girl’s credit line.

 

Gato(sighs): Why did I get stuck with you guys? I wouldn’t mind staying here…but not knowing where in time I’ll end up is a major drag.

 

Sakaki: Anubis…we’ve made our decision.

 

Anubis: Some of the traps and puzzles are tough…but I believe you guys can make it. You beat Isis after all.

 

Sakaki: Sure enough! Ok guys lets go!

 

(They all walk into the dark room, and the door shuts after them.)

 

Anubis: Good luck Sakaki…Gato, and Miss Atsuko.

 

(They walk down the tunnel for some time, until they get to another room with many torches lighting things up.)

 

Sakaki: This must be our first trial…

 

Atsuko: So what do we do?

 

(Sakaki takes a torch and then the room begins to shake.)

 

Sakaki: What’s going on?!

 

Gato: Haven’t you ever watched a movie like this?!?! You’re never supposed to touch anything without directions first!

 

(As suddenly as it started the room shaking stops.)

 

Sakaki: Um…how anti-climatic….

 

(Then three doors open below on three sides of the room all having a number on them.)

 

Gato: One…Two…and Three….

 

Atsuko: So what do we do?

 

Sakaki: We choose a door I guess…

 

Gato: There’s got to be more to it than that….

 

Atsuko: I’m almost positive there is. But what do we do now?

 

(Sakaki then notices something near door 2.)

 

Sakaki: Hey guys have a look at this!

 

(Atsuko and Gato run up to Sakaki and look at what he’s looking at.)

 

Sakaki: This looks pretty beaten up.

 

(The sides of door number 2 are indeed eroded and scratched up.)

 

Atsuko: Hmm…what could that mean?

 

Gato: The other two doors aren’t like that.

 

Sakaki: Maybe this is the right one?

 

Atsuko: I doubt it.

 

Gato: Huh?

 

Atsuko: Those scratch marks…they look like someone was pulled into the door by force and they resisted. If it’s the right door why would they resist?

 

Sakaki: Hmmm…good point.

 

Gato: The people who built this place wouldn’t go in there by force either…since they know the right way….possibly something in that door dragged them in?

 

(Everyone sweatdrops and steps slowly away from door number 2.)

 

Sakaki: Drat it…that still leaves one and three.

 

Atsuko: There’s gotta be a way to solve this….

 

(Atsuko examines door one, and then door three. She looks at them with a thoughtful expression and then back at Sakaki and Gato.)

 

Gato: So? What did you figure out?

 

Atsuko: I’m more than 70% positive that door three is the right door.

 

Sakaki: Then that’s the one!

 

Atsuko: But…I’m thinking door one has at least a 40% possibility…

 

Sakaki: How did you get to those conclusions anyway?

 

Atsuko: Door three seems to be the cleanest door. Which means its probably regularly maintained. So that means it probably leads out of here and is the way back to Anubis’s place.

 

Gato: And door one?

 

Atsuko: It’s also very clean. But not as clean as three.

 

Sakaki: Well only one thing to do here. Gato? Mind giving me a hand?

 

Gato: Err…what?

 

Sakaki: Just follow me…and you too Atsuko.

 

Atsuko: O..Ok..

 

(Sakaki positions himself at door 1, and Atsuko and Gato at door 3.)

 

Sakaki: On my count…Atsuko open door 3 and I’ll open door 1.

 

Gato: That’s crazy!

 

Sakaki: But its our only plan!

 

(Sakaki faces the door, and finally pushes it open running in. Atsuko does the same for door 3 and they run inside. Sakaki runs down a dark tunnel and he hears something flying towards him. Using the sword that he got from John, he blocks the flying device which was an arrow. Soon more come at him and Sakaki finds that they’re coming from everywhere. Meanwhile Atsuko and Gato get to the other side safely, and wait for Sakaki.)

 

Atsuko: I knew it! He didn’t make it!

 

Gato: Well it was HIS stupid plan in the first place.

 

(Sakaki then emerges through his door and nearly falls down a trap door that opens, but manages to move out of the way.)

 

Atsuko: Sakaki! You made it!

 

Sakaki: Yeah.

 

(He falls over.)

 

Gato: You okay?

 

(Sakaki is terrified and sits on the floor gasping for breath.)

 

Sakaki: Just….a couple….of…..minutes……

 

Atsuko: What happened in there?

 

(Later they are walking down a hallway, which is nicer and better, lit than the previous corridor and on guard for other traps.)

 

Gato: Who knew that toots was such a science queen?

 

Atsuko: Heh…I stink at history, but rock at forensics and science.

 

Sakaki: That’s good. Maybe with your help we can get out of here.

 

Gato: Just as long as you Mr. Rambo doesn’t try any other dumb stuff.

 

Sakaki: It HAD to be done…or we’d still be trying to figure out what door to enter.

 

(Sakaki and Gato are about to argue when the floor begins to drop.)

 

Atsuko: What’s that?!

 

Gato: Divine intervention?!

 

Sakaki: Gato started it!

 

(Then they see that they are standing on a giant scale.)

 

Atsuko: Another puzzle?

 

Gato: Hey! The room we’re headed to is up that way!

 

(Gato points upward at it.)

 

Sakaki: How do we get up there?

 

Atsuko: Find something that will ether balance or be more than our combined weight.

 

Sakaki: How?

 

Atsuko: Hmm…

 

(Then she sees a pile of rocks.)

 

Atsuko: That’s how.

 

(They go and pile the rocks and manage to balance the scale so that they can cross.)

 

Sakaki: Ok! Let’s go!

 

(They manage to cross through to the next room and find a huge statue of a sphinx.)

 

Sakaki: What now?

 

(All of a sudden the Sphinx eye’s begin to glow and it awakens with a roar.)

 

Gato: IT’S ALLLLLLLLLLLLIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIVVVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEEEEE!

 

Sakaki: We’re going to fight it?

 

(The Sphinx steps aside and reveals a door.)

 

Sakaki: Err…what’s going on?

 

(Sakaki walks over to the door and the Sphinx growls. Sakaki takes out the sword of flames and is instantly hit by the Sphinx.)

 

Atsuko: Sakaki!

 

(Sakaki gets up slowly.)

 

Sakaki: What was that for?!

 

(Sakaki dashes towards it and is hit again.)

 

Gato: Hey! Don’t be stupid!

 

Atsuko: Theres probably a way to get past that thing!

 

Sakaki: But how?

 

Atsuko: A minute ago that thing wouldn’t attack us…but why?

 

Sakaki: I was too scared back then….

 

Atsuko: That’s it! Its because we had no intention of attacking till just now…I’m sure that if we walk calmly by it we can get through!

 

Gato: And if you’re wrong?

 

Sakaki: You could just stay here you know.

 

Gato: One day I’m gonna get skinned because of you guys.

 

Sakaki: Atsuko I believe in you…let’s try it!

 

(They begin to walk calmly towards the sphinx and it looks at them cautiously but not moving an inch. Then finally they make it by the sphinx and into the next room. Sakaki and Atsuko breathe a sigh of relief while Gato walks ahead.)

 

Sakaki: Man Atsuko…its great having you around….

 

Atsuko: Thanks Sakaki….

 

Gato: Hey I think I found something to make your day guys.

 

(They see a ladder going upward.)

 

Sakaki: Do you think that it leads to the Time gate Atsuko?

 

(Using her free hand Atsuko checks the tracking device.)

 

Atsuko: Yeah! Its right above us according to this!

 

(Sakaki climbs up to the top and looks around.)

 

Sakaki: How will I know exactly where it is?

 

(Sakaki looks to the side and sees another hallway. Then he walks back over and calls down to Atsuko.)

 

Sakaki: Atsuko! How do I get to its exact location?

 

Atsuko: Its right above us!

 

Sakaki: But…how do I get up there?

 

(Then he walks down the hallway and notices a fountain.)

 

Sakaki: Hmm…is this related to that room?

 

(Sakaki heads back to the room where the Time gate lies, and looks around. Sure enough there is a fountain there too.)

 

Sakaki: What do I do now?

 

(Sakaki leans against the fountain to think and it moves over a bit. In the other room he can hear water gushing out of the other fountain.)

 

Sakaki: This is a switch?

 

(He heads back to the other room though the hallway and sees the water flowing out, but suddenly it stops.)

 

Sakaki: Maybe the switch flipped back.

 

(Sakaki then tries pushing the fountain in the room he’s in and then water flows in the OTHER room.)

 

Sakaki: I think I get it….

 

(He runs over to the adjacent room to push that one too, but then the other fountain runs dry again.)

 

Sakaki: Drat it…this is getting me nowhere.

 

(Then Sakaki gets an idea. He heads back down the hallway and throws the regular non heat sword halfway down so that it hits the fountain and then using this head start heads back down to the other fountain and kicks it.)

 

Sakaki: Here goes my hunch!

 

(In the middle room a rumble can be heard and water starts to gush in from everywhere.)

 

Sakaki(Calling down to others): Guys! Come on up!

 

Atsuko: Waters everywhere Sakaki! I can’t come my arm is broken!

 

Sakaki: Oh no! I forgot!

 

(Sakaki heads back down the ladder and tries to help Atsuko and Gato back up, and the water begins to flow In that room and up the ladder.)

 

Sakaki: We’re gonna drown!

 

(Atsuko presses a button on her keychain and then the Time gate’s bottom hatch opens.)

 

Atsuko: Close your eyes and hold your breath! I’ve got an idea!

(They do that and Atsuko presses a button on the Time gate keychain she has. The water surrounds them and instead of sinking, they float along with it. They float up to the open hatch under the Time gate and into the ship.)

 

Sakaki: Whoa! What was that?

 

Atsuko: The Time gate comes with that…just in case you run into trouble in another era.

 

Gato: Let’s get out of here before we become Olympic swimmers.

 

(Atsuko turns on the Time gate and looks at Sakaki)

 

Sakaki: What?

 

Atsuko: Wanna do the honors? My arm is broken I can’t steer.

 

Sakaki: Really?

 

Atsuko: Sure! I’ll tell you how to fly it!

 

Sakaki: Wow! Cool!

 

(They lift out of the sand and fly high into the air. The Water erupts as a geyser, moisturizing the arid desert and bringing people around. Anubis watches with an approving look at the Time gate and keeps watching until they disappear in the sky.)

 

Anubis: Good luck in what you may do.

Atsuko: From the looks of it…we’re the police…..

 

Gato: Wha---wha?!
