(Sakaki and Atsuko now accompanied by the precocious Gato travel through the time flow supposedly headed to Sakaki’s home era.)

 

Sakaki: Atsuko! The time flow is so great! I can almost see all the different time periods we’re passing!

 

Atsuko: Hmm…that’s good.

 

Gato: Hey do you think we could stop at the future? I got a bone to pick with some of my “Friends.”

 

Atsuko: Hmm…maybe.

 

Sakaki: Hey Atsuko! How long is it gonna take before we get to my time period anyway?

 

Atsuko: Hmm…maybe.

 

Sakaki: Huh? Are you listening?

 

(Atsuko suddenly snaps to attention.)

Atsuko: What? Oh um…I dunno, depends on how fast we go I suppose…

 

Sakaki: You seem pretty withdrawn suddenly…you ok?

 

Atsuko: Just fine thanks! See?

 

(She laughs unconvincingly.)

Gato: Boy, you’d better not become an actress. That was really phony, and I’m being NICE.

 

(Atsuko sweatdrops.)

Atsuko: Look, you guys just keep it down till we get to our next destination.

 

Sakaki: Episode 6: The wonders of the world! Ancient Egypt!

(Sakaki has a very large irritation mark on his face as he stares outside the now docked Time gate.)

 

Sakaki: This…isn’t….the present Atsuko is it?

 

Atsuko(Laughing nervously.): Well it is to the people who live here.

 

Sakaki: THAT’S NOT WHAT I MEANT! I THOUGHT YOU WERE TAKING ME HOME!

 

Atsuko: I told you I have a report to do! The more time I take to research the less I’m in danger of failing history!

 

Sakaki: BUT YOU LIED!

 

(Gato looks out the window with Sakaki.)

Gato: Hey, this is ancient Egypt isn’t it?

 

(True enough the scenery is very dry and arid and pyramids dot the landscape.)

 

Gato: I never would have figured you lived here Sakaki.

 

Sakaki: I DON’T!

 

Atsuko: Look I know you’re a little upset Sakaki….

 

Sakaki: AS IF THAT ISN’T AN UNDERSTATEMENT!

 

(Atsuko gets on her knees and looks up at Sakaki with pleading eyes.)

 

Atsuko: But I like you.

 

(Sakaki’s expression changes gradually, until its one of confusion and pity.)

 

Sakaki: Er…you like me?

 

Atsuko: Not like that…but I really want you to stay a while…we’re friends right? It really sucks to have to do this all alone…and besides you know how to fight Tengons way better than me since you’re so brave.

 

(Sakaki’s face turns red.)

 

Atsuko: So please just stick around a little while longer? Once I get all the research I have done I’ll take you home…I promise.

 

Sakaki: I suppose….just a little while. I hate to admit it but I’m actually having lots of fun traveling around with you.

 

Atsuko: Really?

 

(Gato pokes his head into the middle.)

Gato: Well Mr. and Missus…whatever….as much as I hate to break up your pity show I’m bored.

 

Sakaki: Yeah Gato has a point, we’re here so…lets explore!

 

Atsuko: Yeah!

 

(They get out of the Time gate and start heading down to the nearest village. Unfortunately none of them figured for the heat that the whole continent that Egypt is on has.)

 

Sakaki: It’s so…HOT!

 

Atsuko: I feel like I’m gonna collapse….

 

Gato: If I fall over and die, make sure I look dignified ok?

 

Sakaki: You’re not dying before me.

 

Gato: Who sez? You?

 

Atsuko: Can you guys quit being so depressing?

 

(Then a camel walks by looks at them and keeps going.)

 

Sakaki: Hey wait a second…where there’s a camel there’s got to be people right?

 

Gato: Do camels even exist in this era?

 

(Then three more camels run by and a huge ghastly wind can be heard.)

 

Sakaki: What’s that?!?

 

Atsuko: Judging from the running camels and the sand blowing all over the place I’d say it’s probably….

 

(They turn around and see a huge dust funnel behind them.)

All: SANDSTORM!!!!!!!!

 

(They run as fast as they can but can’t avoid being sucked up by the sandstorm. After this happens all goes black. Later Gato and Sakaki wake up outside a city capital.)

 

Gato: Whoa…remind me to get the license plate of that storm.

 

Sakaki: Yeah…we just got done in by a hit and run.

 

Gato: Where’s the chick at?

 

Sakaki: You mean Atsuko? Good question…I do wonder what happened to her?

 

(Then they hear Atsuko calling their names.)

 

Atsuko: Sakaki! Gato! Over here!

 

(They turn and see Atsuko running from the city and towards them.)

 

Atsuko: Hey! There you are!

 

(Atsuko is now wearing something more time appropriate, and has a camel of her own.)

 

Atsuko: I woke up a bit earlier than you two so I got some supplies.

 

Sakaki: How did you do that? You have money?

 

Atsuko: Well…not really. But people around here are willing to trade for anything! I gave them some future trinkets and got all this!

 

Gato: Well well my girl, seems like you got the trade of haggling down.

 

Sakaki: What happened to your clothes?

 

Atsuko: You guys are lucky. They seem to really love Cats here; I had to change so I wouldn’t stick out like a sore thumb.

 

Sakaki: Ehhhh? Wait they worship cats here don’t they?

 

Gato: Really? Well I think its about time we found someone that really appreciates us huh Sakaki?

 

Sakaki: Sounds good.

 

(They both get up and walk triumphantly away.)

Atsuko: Geez…I knew I should have kept that to myself.

 

(Atsuko follows them, and they stroll into town where lots of people take attention of the two feline time travelers.)

 

Sakaki: This is great!

 

Gato: Finally. True appreciation.

 

Atsuko: You guys are nuts.

 

Sakaki: Are we?

 

Gato: Nah, she’s just jealous.

 

Sakaki(Toothy grin.): That’s right!

 

Gato(Toothy Grin): Is it ever!

 

(Atsuko holds her head and shakes it.)

 

Atsuko: I’ve got a headache from all this…I’m gonna go find someone who’s half-sane.

 

(She exits and Sakaki and Gato enjoy their attention. Later the two are walking alone when Sakaki notices that they are being followed.)

 

Sakaki: Hey Gato, I didn’t want to alert anyone…but there’s someone following us.

 

Gato: What?

 

Sakaki: Ever since we stepped foot in town…this person has been following us.

 

Gato: What do we do?

 

Sakaki: This is why I walked in this direction…so that….

 

(He picks up a pebble turns quickly and tosses it.)

 

Sakaki: Show yourself!

 

(A woman wrapped in cloth steps from behind a building and stands before them.)

 

Gato: Who are you?

 

Sakaki: And what do you want?

 

(The woman removes the hood covering her face and reveals that she is very beautiful.)

 

Gato: MAMA!

 

(Gato bounds over to her while Sakaki groans.)

 

Sakaki: You are hopeless.

 

Woman: I couldn’t help but notice that you two aren’t like the felines around here.

 

Sakaki: Yeah you could say that.

Woman: How amusing. I myself am a huge cat lover, so you could say I’m quite interested in you.

 

Gato: Isn’t THAT a coincidence? I happen to like pretty girls!

 

Sakaki: So what do you want?

 

Woman: It must be so hard to converse on an empty stomach.

 

Sakaki: Wha?

 

(His stomach growls.)

 

Gato: How improper, and right in front of a lady!

 

(Sakaki blushes slightly and bows.)

 

Sakaki: Sorry about that.

 

Woman: Don’t worry yourself. I happen to have lots to eat in my place, and no one to help me finish it. Would you accompany me?

 

Sakaki: Hmm…well I guess that’s ok…

 

Gato: Of course! Its more than ok its spectacular!

 

Sakaki: You are really hopeless Gato.

 

Gato: Maybe to YOU.

 

(The woman smiles slyly, and the three walk back to her house…which is more like a PYRAMID.)

 

Sakaki: WHOA! I never woulda figured you lived in somewhere like this!

 

Woman: I try to be very modest…but the fact of the matter is I’m very important.

 

Gato: Wow..Beautiful and influential…I think I’m in love…

 

Woman: Now shall we go in?

 

Sakaki: Ok….(Thinking) There is something really suspicious…..why would someone who’s obviously rich wanna invite strangers over for dinner?

 

(His stomach growls again.)

 

Sakaki: I guess I could think about that on a full stomach.

 

(He follows the Woman and Gato who have already gone in, and unknown to him someone is watching all of them.)

 

Man: Looks like she’s got two more of them…

 

(Meanwhile Atsuko has grown tired of walking around town and sits down to rest.)

 

Atsuko: Man, these sandals don’t provide good arch support for walking around all day…

 

(She looks into the crowd of people.)

 

Atsuko: I wonder how Sakaki and Gato are doing?

 

(She turns behind her and the man who was watching our heroes is standing there.)

 

Atsuko: GAH! Who are you? What are you doing?

 

Man: You shouldn’t be worried. You and I are actually very alike.

 

Atsuko: Alike? How?

 

Man: No time for formalities…your friends are going to die if we don’t intervene quickly!

 

Atsuko: What?!? Wait how do you know?

 

(He snaps his fingers and she falls asleep.)

Man: Sorry that it had to be this way…I’ll explain everything in due time.

 

(He picks her up and leaps from rooftop to rooftop. Meanwhile Sakaki and Gato are enjoying fine dining as the Woman hands them more to eat.)

 

Sakaki: This is good lady! Did you make it yourself?

 

Woman: Yes I did. I’m glad you enjoy it.

 

Sakaki: Hey, why did you invite us in anyway?

 

Woman: Hmmm, I suppose it’s mostly because I need something from you.

 

Gato: Whatever it is I’ve got it going on.

 

Sakaki: I’ll help in anyway I can as well.

 

Woman: How good. You’re so willing.

 

(She stands back from our heroes and then two burly monsters come down from the ceiling. Sakaki grabs Gato and jumps out of the way before they are crushed.)

 

Sakaki: I KNEW this was too good to be true! You’re not who you say you are! Who are you?!

 

(The woman chuckles and walks forward. Sakaki gasps, because now her eyes are sharp and narrow and her hands are now clawed.)

 

Woman: I am Isis. And you two will be the sacrifices for my eternal life.

 

Gato: SACRIFICE?!

 

Isis: Deamons! Bring them here!

 

(The burly beasts run towards Sakaki, who takes out his sword and tries to defend himself. The two beasts attack and attack, and Sakaki manages to defend until they both huddle for a second.)

 

Gato: What’s going on?

 

Sakaki: I dunno…but I’m gonna stop it!

 

(Then the two beasts turn and charge. When they get to Sakaki one stops to duel with him while the other jumps high in the air. Sakaki fights the grounded monster for a bit not noticing the other.)

Gato: Sakaki! Watch out!

 

(Isis then waves her hand and the ground sprouts arms holding down Sakaki and Gato.)

 

Gato: HEY!

 

Sakaki: What is this?!

 

(Then the second monster lands on Sakaki with full force.)

 

Gato: Sakaki!

 

(It gets off of Sakaki and underneath Sakaki is unconscious still holding on to his blade, and his face still has a shocked expression. The ground starts to rumble and collapse underneath all of the people on that floor.)

 

Isis: Foolish Deamons…now they’ll fall into his realm!

 

(She makes the monsters disappear and then hovers above the ground so that she doesn’t fall.)

 

Isis: No matter. The only way out is through this way.

 

(Sakaki and Gato fall to the second floor where the rubble covers them, and supposedly ending their adventure. Fortunately the man from earlier walks up holding Atsuko and he looks at the wreckage.)

 

Man: Hmmm, I felt that boy’s strength…he’s definitely got something, he just needs a new weapon and training to hone in on his true strength. He might just be able to defeat her yet….

 

(He looks up at the top floor with a grim expression. And on the top floor Isis sits waiting for her prey to come back….)

Gato: Well we have to beat that lady don’t we?!

 

Sakaki: Don’t you mean I have to? You aren’t gonna do anything.

 

Atsuko: I don’t get why this guy wants to help us so badly….

 

Sakaki: Maybe he’s just a nice guy!

 

Gato: Eww, what are those little things? And what does helping them have to do with Sakaki’s training?
