(Sakaki is now viewing grassland that is near the castle that he and Atsuko are staying at.)

 

Sakaki: Whoo! This is great! I actually feel really free and happy here. Though…I still miss Hau and Cyclone and the others.

 

(He stares down below him and sees Atsuko working on the Time gate.)

 

Sakaki: Yo Atsuko! Need any help?

 

(Atsuko comes from under the time gate with her face smugended by oil. She takes off her goggles sighs and says)

Atsuko: Well its official…we need new parts along with new fuel.

 

Sakaki: Really? What caused it to crash in the first place?

 

Atsuko: Beats me. Though I dunno where to find what would fix this stuff.

 

Sakaki: That’s right…we’re in an era where those kinds of things aren’t available yet….

 

(Sakaki groans)

 

Atsuko: Don’t worry too much! I’m sure we can find something if we really try!

 

Sakaki: I wish I could be as positive as you….

 

Gato: HEY! I’m trying to get some sleep here! Go complain somewhere else!

 

Sakaki: By the way…why are YOU still here?!

 

Gato: I’ve decided to enlighten you guys with my presence.

 

Sakaki: I think it’s because you like us.

 

Gato: SILENCE!

 

Sakaki: Fine...be in denial.

 

Sakaki: Episode 5: Big bad boss Tengon! Sakaki’s new Blade!

 

(Atsuko has come in to clean up and assess the new status of the Time Gate.)

 

Atsuko: Well guys its really looking bad, but I think we can pull through if we try.

 

Sakaki: Does this mean you have an idea of how to fix the time gate?

 

Atsuko: No.

 

(Sakaki falls over.)

 

Gato: Not that I care about you guys, but couldn’t you modify stuff in this era to fix your time thingy?

 

Atsuko: That sounds easy enough, problem is the Time gate uses very specific parts from the future….if I tried to introduce new parts the machine would either fall apart or not work at all.

 

Sakaki: Darn it! How in the world will we cope with this situation then?

 

(Then John walks in.)

 

John: It sounds as if maybe you three might need to go to the market.

 

Sakaki: Market?

 

John: They sell very useful things there, I’m not sure if they’d help your situation…but at least it would help ease some of your tension to walk around out there.

 

Sakaki: Yah…I think you’re right about that.

 

Atsuko: You boys can go; I wanna keep trying on the Time gate.

 

Sakaki: You sure about that Atsuko?

 

Atsuko: Yeah, I’m sure if I really work hard I can get it working. I wish I had a torch or something though; I could use things inside of the Time gate to fix the outside with it.

 

Sakaki: Hmm, maybe they might have something in the market.

 

Gato: I’ll go too. Markets are prime places to hob-nob with the rich and famous.

 

Sakaki: You should dream when you’re sleeping.

 

Gato: WHAT WAS THAT?

 

Sakaki(Smug expression.): Nothing for thine ears.

 

John: So you’ll be off then?

 

Sakaki: Yeah.

 

John: Before you go, I managed to find someone who could restore this.

 

(John hands Sakaki the sword fully restored.)

 

Sakaki: Awesome! This will teach those Tengon guys a lesson!

 

Gato: Well if you’re done drooling, let’s go.

 

(Sakaki and Gato depart for the village, waving goodbye to Atsuko and John as they leave. Meanwhile Boss Tengon is having a chew out---er----brainstorming session with his subordinates.)

 

Boss Tengon: How in the world could you lose to this Sakaki guy? He only got out on pure luck last time!

 

Tengon Guard 1: Well I guess he must be REALLY lucky then….nothing we seem to do affect the guy!

 

Tengon Guard 2: It’s embarrassing to lose to him but he’s always got something up his sleeves!

 

Boss Tengon: Is this so?

 

(Boss Tengon looks outside into space where their ship is now.)

 

Boss Tengon: We need to search for this person with Master Technology. Or have you forgotten that?

 

Tengon Guards: No sir!

 

Boss Tengon: We came to this place because our sensors got a faint reading which was better than the nothing we’ve been getting for such a long time! If we had this person with Master Technology, we could accomplish all the plans that I’ve had in mind.

 

Tengon Guard 1: I suppose so, but how do we beat this Sakaki guy?

 

Boss Tengon: Leave that to me. (Silent) When I’m done with Sakaki he’ll be a thing of the past!

 

(The guards scream in horror at this bad time joke.)

 

Boss Tengon: Everyone is a critic.

 

(Meanwhile Sakaki and Gato are walking around the village looking at the things on sale.)

 

Sakaki: Gato do you see anything that we might need?

 

Gato: Depends on what you’re talking about…are we looking for parts for Atsuko? Or something to put your sword into?

 

(The camera zooms out to reveal that Sakaki is dragging the sword on the ground behind him and people are covering their ears from the horrible scraping noise its making.)

 

Sakaki: Er…lets work on that second part first.

 

(Sakaki and Gato stop at a weapon’s dealer and try to haggle for a decent price on a sword holder.)

 

Sakaki: Come on! Can’t you go lower than that?

 

Salesman: No way. If I did that everyone would want the same price.

 

Sakaki: But I don’t have that much money….

 

Gato: It’s true, he’s broke.

 

(WHONK!)

 

Gato: Try to hit me again and I’ll make it worse buster.

 

(Sakaki is the one covering a large lump on his head and shivering in pain.)

 

Gato: Anyways, what would you be willing go with to give my friend the equipment that he SO needs.

 

Salesman: Hmmm…what would I be willing to go with? Well…if you have something rare, I could give you the choice of anything I sell.

 

Gato: Rare you say?

 

Salesman: And don’t try to fool me…I have a good idea what’s rare and what isn’t.

 

Gato: Heh...As if WE’D sink to that level. (Thinking) Damn…he saw right through me. Now what do I do?

 

(Gato looks around and finds that Sakaki is gone.)

 

Gato: Now where did he go?

 

(Sakaki is at the lake trying to run water on his bruise.)

 

Sakaki: Stupid Gato…is faster than me and all….

 

(Sakaki notices something under water and looks down at it.)

 

Sakaki: Ehh? What is that?

 

(Then something glows and flies up at Sakaki really quickly. The young hero falls backward and it rises out where he should have been. Sakaki gets up to find three robots in his face with Boss Tengon standing behind them triumphantly.)

 

Sakaki: You again!

 

Boss Tengon: I see that you’ve met the XR-002 Gatai robot.

 

Sakaki: What do you want?

 

Boss Tengon: Oh…a cup of revenge with your death as the main dish.

 

Sakaki: Well dinner is cancelled buddy!

 

(Off screen the guards scream again at this horrible set of puns.)

 

Sakaki: Boy they’re no fun are they?

 

Boss Tengon: It pains me to say that I agree with you. Anyways…time for you to die now.

 

(Boss Tengon takes out a fancy looking device, and after doing some posing presses a button. The first robot’s arms and legs tuck into each other while the second one’s head goes down into its body and its arms lengthen. The third robot separates and attaches to the sides of the first, its one end becoming a sharp point while the other end becomes a rifle. The first and second combine and finally become one robot, which jumps into the air and lands striking a triumphant pose.)

 

Boss Tengon: May I introduce you to MEGLAR XR-000 GATIOUS B!

 

(Sakaki looks at it and then at the camera.)

Sakaki: You have GOT to be kidding me.

 

(The robot points at Sakaki and its legs open up to reveal speakers. Inside a Tengon guard speaks for the robot.)

 

Meglar XR-000: FOOL! DO NOT BELITTLE MY POWER! I AM GATIOUS BBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBBB!!!

 

Sakaki: Err…what happened to A?

 

Boss Tengon: That one was cooler….but due to circumstances beyond our control, we couldn’t use that one.

 

(Meanwhile back on the ship three Tengon warriors try to get the Gatious A out of its box.)

 

Boss Tengon: AH-em. Now Gatious B would you mind ripping our guest into half?

 

Meglar XR-000: INDEED!

 

Sakaki: Heh well this is a perfect time to test out my new sword!

 

(Sakaki picks it up and charges at the robot, which instantly appears behind him.)

 

Sakaki: It’s quick!

 

(It punches Sakaki away, and then opens fire using its rifle arm.)

 

Sakaki: AUUUUUUUUUGHHHHHHHH!

 

(He runs around narrowly avoiding each shot.)

 

Boss Tengon: You…..Gatious B! Switch to beautiful sniper mode!

 

(Gatious B flexes its arms and legs and strikes a very disturbingly beautiful pose.)

 

Meglar XR-000: NOW GASP IN AWE AND TERROR AT MY SNIPER SHOT!

 

(An eyepatch pops out of the sole of the robot’s foot and flies in the air until it is caught by Gatious B. Then the eyepatch opens up and Gatious B peers through it and can read Sakaki’s heat signature.)

 

Sakaki: That’s not good is it…

 

(Gatious B’s arm switches rifles and fires a huge Shot at Sakaki. Sakaki can only stare helplessly as the bullet heads to him at fast speed. The bullet explodes and a fire starts. Boss Tengon cackles at the defeat of his enemy, and approvingly thumbs up Gatious B. Far away Atsuko and John see the smoke billowing out. Gato sees this too, and groans.)

 

Gato: How much you wanna bet those Tengon dummies are up to crap again.

 

(He sighs and begins to head in that direction.)

 

Boss Tengon: I have to say! That was most magnificent! Look how quickly that Sakaki was finished!

 

(Meglar XR-000 stands and watches the fire billow. Then it gasps as the sensors in its eye begin to pulse.)

Sakaki: Yeah that’s right! I’m still alive!

 

(Sakaki walks out of the flames, a little blackened but otherwise ok.)

 

Boss Tengon: But how?!

 

Sakaki: I sliced the bullet in half! It caused an explosion, but it was far less damaging than taking it on directly.

 

Meglar XR-000: NOO!

 

Sakaki: Hmph, now it’s your turn! I’ve been watching you move! Now I know how to stop you!

 

(Sakaki runs at the robot and then slashes both arms off with the sword.)

 

Sakaki: Your arms are what give you balance! Without them you’d just lean to one side!

 

(True enough the robot leans to its left side and has trouble regaining its balance.)

 

Boss Tengon: So you are a worthy foe Sakaki. Interesting.

 

Meglar XR-000: NOW I’LL GET REALLY SERIOUS!

 

(The Robot opens its chest and a huge cannon appears. The cannon begins to make a high pitched whine as it collects energy to shoot.)

 

Sakaki: WAIT! You’ll…..

 

(The robot shoots knocking itself down, making the blast fire upward.)

 

Sakaki: Fall…

 

(Then after the blast subsides Gatious lies fading in strength.)

 

Boss Tengon: Oh no!

 

(He runs to the robot’s side.)

 

Boss Tengon: Speak to me!

 

Meglar XR-000: Tell the children…I’ll never forget them….uhhhhhh

 

(The robot shuts down.)

 

Boss Tengon: He was a noble fighter.

 

(He turns to Sakaki.)

 

Boss Tengon: This ISN’T over by a long shot. We will be back Sakaki, and stronger as ever.

 

(Boss Tengon’s ship appears overhead and he is beamed aboard. Soon the Tengon soldier climbs out of the robot and runs on board too.)

 

Sakaki: Wow…that was pretty tough…but I feel stronger now.

 

(The wind blows and Sakaki’s fur is swept by the wind. Gato runs up and the two of them converse for a while until Atsuko and John appear.)

 

Atsuko: What happened here?

 

Sakaki: Tengons came but I handled ‘em.

 

Atsuko: Really? You’re so strong!

 

Gato: ‘Course I could have taken ‘em all on too.

 

Atsuko: Heh, you’re both strong then!

 

(Atsuko looks at the left behind Meglar XR-000 and her eyes glitter like crystals.)

 

Atsuko: What…is…. that?

 

Sakaki: Oh…Boss Tengon left this thing behind I guess…Atsuko what should we do with it?

 

Atsuko: It’s the savior we’ve been looking for! I can use these parts to fix the time gate!

 

Sakaki: Really?! Wow then let’s get to it then!

 

(Later the Time Gate is restored to its full glory, and even some of the oil that the robot ran on was used for fuel.)

Atsuko: John, I suppose its time for us to go.

 

Sakaki: It was really fun and all…I’ll miss you.

 

John: You were a pleasure to have. I hope that you fair well on your journey.

 

Sakaki: Hey Gato, what about you? You staying here?

 

Gato: Nah, I’ve decided that without me you’d be lost. So I’ll supervise this whole trip of yours.

 

Sakaki(Thinking): Aren’t WE supposed to decide that about YOU?

 

Atsuko: Great! I was so hoping you’d come!

 

Sakaki: Well let’s go!

 

Gato: See you pops.

 

John: Goodbye!

 

(They get inside the Time gate and Atsuko puts the key in the ignition, which starts with a roar, and the Time gate begins to lift and finally fly away into a time flow portal. The three cheer as they begin their journey in the time flow once again.)

 

Sakaki (Thinking): I’m finally on my way back home! Though a part of me wants to explore time some more….

 

(Atsuko cranks up the speed and they blast away through the time flow.)

Gato: You sound SO manly now. We ended up in ancient Egypt! Where they worship cats!

 

Sakaki: Really? Hmmm a guy could get used to THAT kind of treatment…

 

Gato: I knew you’d come around.
