(Last time on Sakaki Jikan Tabibito, if you weren’t there a huge showdown happened! The, protagonist Sakaki faced off against the antagonist Grawl, and while it was a messy battle overall, Sakaki seemingly managed to win after summoning some very strange powers from the midnight blade. However soon after that he was captured by Grawl’s father Hiro, and this seemingly put an end to his rescue Atsuko mission. However Gato still remains free, and while that doesn’t offer a whole lot of hope it does offer just a small glimmer, and we know that Sakaki is capable of making very little work for him. We start today’s episode in the infirmary.)

 

Nurse: Ok just take it easy, and you should be fine.

 

(The Nurse has just finished tending to a patient, and we see that we know this person all too well.)

 

Liu: Yeah thanks.

 

(She waves and leaves the infirmary. She has a noticeable bounce in her step and for the first time in a while she has a smile on her face.)

 

Liu: He IS the one! I knew it! Now all I have to do is get him out of here and…and…

 

(She stops in the hallway and looks up at the camera i.e. us, and smiles mischievously.)

 

Liu: These painful days and people will all disappear.

 

Sakaki: Episode 41: Lie Cheat and Steal! This is the Tengon way!

 

(Sakaki stirs and moans. Then opening his eyes suddenly he sits up and soon after that yelps in pain and lies back on the floor for a minute unmoving. Sakaki groans and finally sits up slowly this time.)

 

Sakaki: Gah…I feel so awful….what did I do? I remember fighting Grawl, and getting really angry. After that though is really fuzzy…..

 

(Sakaki looks around and notices that he’s in a holding cell, and beside him the midnight blade lies ready for its next usage.)

 

Sakaki: Darn it….I got beat up and caught huh?

 

(He notices that he’s bandaged up and for the most part in one piece.)

 

Sakaki: Hmm…why would they go through all of the trouble of healing me when I’m their enemy? This doesn’t make even a little bit of sense. Come to think of it, if Grawl beat me up so bad wouldn’t it have been better for him to finish me off right then and there? (sighs) These Tengons don’t make any sense….

 

(Sakaki paces around his cell nervously.)

 

Sakaki: Now what? I’m much too weak to try busting out of here, and Gato is….wait! He’s….

 

(Flashback from our last adventure.)

 

Gato: What kind of person is so abnormal that fighting an army for one person seems okay to them?

 

(Present Sakaki groans. He slips back into the flashback one more time however…)

 

Sakaki: The kind of person who values friendship! That’s who!

 

Gato: And what has friendship gotten us so far? Sucked up in a black hole, chased down by some assassins and heres the icing on the cake, attacked by the person we’re supposed to save!

 

Sakaki(To himself.): ENOUGH! I know I know! Gato is probably right!

 

(Sakaki sits in the middle of his cell mournfully.)

 

Sakaki: But what was I supposed to do? Just give up? Leave her alone like this?

 

(From the next cell over Sakaki hears a voice.)

 

Voice: Um, I couldn’t help but overhear….

 

(Sakaki turns and walks over to the wall of his cell. He can’t see the voice’s source but from the sound of things the person is a female, and probably a few years older than our hero. She speaks in a dignified manner, but even with that she has a calm and soothing voice, one that makes Sakaki feel at ease.)

 

Sakaki: Huh? Someone is over there?

 

Voice: Yes, I’m sorry. I think that you are doing a good thing, even if it doesn’t feel like its worthwhile.

 

Sakaki: Uh….thank you.

 

Voice: Your friend will be very happy to see you.

 

Sakaki(Blushing): You think?

 

Voice: I know.

 

Sakaki: Hey um thanks, I was about to give up there, but thanks to your kind words I think I’ll definitely keep trying.

 

Voice: I’m happy for you.

 

Sakaki: But who are you?

 

Voice: Me? Well I’m Serena. I’m a captive here just like you.

 

Sakaki: Serena? Well nice to meet you! I’m---

 

Serena: I know. You are Takahashi Sakaki-kun right?

 

(Sakaki gets a saddened expression and kicks the floor forlornly.)

 

Sakaki: There, you happy? You took my introduction which is pretty much all I had…

 

(Serena laughs lightly. Sakaki smiles and then gets closer to the wall so he can hear her better.)

 

Sakaki: Well I figure since you know my name already, you pretty much know why I’m in here….but what did you do?

 

Serena: Me? Well I am….I am I guess you could say I am a traitor to the Tengons.

 

Sakaki: Wha---traitor?

 

(Sakaki sits down against the wall.)

 

Sakaki: Why would they consider you a traitor?

 

Serena: I am much different than the other Tengons, I find their methods a bit extreme.

 

Sakaki: Oh….

 

Serena: Something wrong?

 

Sakaki: No no, I just never thought I’d hear a Tengon feel that way.

 

Serena: You have actually met a Tengon man who feels that way, so it should not be too strange.

 

Sakaki: Really? I have? Who?

 

(Meanwhile in another part of the infirmary that Liu just left Grawl is hooked up to a life support system. After his fight with Sakaki, he is in incredibly bad shape. It’s more than a miracle that he’s even alive at this point. Hiro and Carmen watch over him, and Hiro shakes his head nonchalantly.)

 

Hiro: Looks like you picked a nasty opponent huh boy?

 

Carmen: Will he pull through?

 

Hiro: Yeah he’s got my blood going through his veins. While it looks bad he’ll be ok I promise.

 

(Carmen lets out a sigh of relief.)

 

Carmen: I actually hate to say this but I was really scared that Koneko-chan would be able to defeat him.

 

Hiro: All the more reason that we have to finish this job quickly.

 

Carmen: Don’t tell me that you’re actually going through with that plan?

 

Hiro: Yes. This kind of life no longer is worth it. We have enough saved up so that we won’t need to work again in this kind of profession.

 

Carmen: I see, well I’ll support you in anything dear.

 

Hiro: Thanks a lot, it means very much to me to have you by my side.

 

(Hiro looks around the room.)

 

Hiro: Huh, where’s our other kid?

 

Carmen: Liu? She already recovered because she didn’t have too many injuries, and the nurses said she was in a good mood and went for a walk.

 

Hiro: A good mood? Man I wish I could have been there. I know she’s a teenager but she’s almost always sulking for this reason or that. I don’t think I’ve seen her smile since she got out of diapers.

 

Carmen: Well with Koneko-chan imprisoned currently, I guess there is no harm in letting her walk around.

 

(As we speak Liu walks down to the holding cell where Sakaki is currently being kept.)

 

Liu: Hehehe I can’t wait to meet him, I wonder what he’s like up close? (Gasps) I wonder what I should say? A first impression is really important…how should I approach him?

 

(Liu stands and tries to think of what to say. Meanwhile Sakaki and Serena are still talking in the holding cell.)

 

Sakaki: WHAAAAAAT?!

 

Serena: This is true.

 

Sakaki: I can’t believe that even in a million years!

 

(Sakaki looks up at the ceiling.)

 

Sakaki: This definitely changes my whole perspective…..HIM of all people?

 

(Sakaki then looks at the wall as if Serena is sitting beside him.)

 

Sakaki: So if that’s the case why are you here?

 

(Serena on her side looks forlornly into the distance.)

 

Sakaki: If you’re that close to him, theres no way you would end up here, so why are you in this situation in this place?

 

(Then they hear a door open and then close.)

 

Sakaki: Huh? Someone is coming!

 

(Liu walks down the hallway until she gets to Sakaki’s cell. She stands there and smiles broadly at him. Though it looks innocent enough, theres something eerie about her smile.)

 

Sakaki: Huh? What do you want?

 

(Sakaki then remembers her.)

 

Sakaki: YOU! You tried to kill me before! Are you here to finish the job?

 

Liu: Don’t be silly you stupid little kitty.

 

Sakaki: “Stupid”? How could she say something so cutesy and cruel at the same time?

 

Liu: I’m not here to finish you, but I’m here to help you so you can help me.

 

Sakaki: What? That doesn’t make any sense!

 

Liu: Don’t worry I’ll explain it all in due time. However….

 

(She stares at him for a good minute.)

 

Liu: You aren’t too bad looking for a furry do-gooder.

 

Sakaki: You’re really really abrasive.

 

Liu: Ooh you are pretty smart too.

 

Sakaki: What makes you think I’m gonna help you?

 

Liu: I don’t see much of a choice you have here. You’re imprisoned and I’m not.

 

Sakaki: Thanks for bringing that up.

 

(Then they both hear a noise coming from nearby.)

 

Liu: Hmm?

 

(A vent beside Liu on the floor begins to creak and move. Finally the vent covering is pulled up and something begins to crawl out.)

 

Liu: Trying to get behind me HUH?

 

(She takes out her umbrella and throws it sharp end first at the being coming out of the vent, luckily her throw is too shallow so it lands in front of the being….Lucky because the being is none other than…….)

Gato: What the hell?! What was that for you crazy…

 

(He sees Liu.)

 

Gato: I mean, why haven’t we met sooner my little vision of loveliness?

Sakaki: She just tried to kill you and…..Nevermind….I’m not gonna bother with you.

 

Gato: Lunkhead? Man what happened to you?!

 

Sakaki: You would have seen if YOU DIDN’T ABANDON ME!!

 

Gato: That really doesn’t matter. I found toots and she’s ok! We just have to---

 

(Liu kicks him aside.)

 

Liu: You can’t just leave me out! I got to you first!

 

Sakaki: So what is it that you want?

 

Liu: I want you to help me be free!

 

Sakaki: Eh?

 

Liu: You heard me. You’re the only one who can get me out of this! My daddy said that we’d be free after we finish this job, and I wouldn’t have to kill anyone anymore! We could start over and being a normal family! That’s what I really want, and you’re the only one who can get it for me!

 

Sakaki: How can I do that?

 

Liu: Beat up the Tengons. That’s easy right?

 

Sakaki: NO IT ISN’T! That’s exactly why I’m in here and in this mess in the first place!

 

Liu(Seductively.): How can you turn down a girl like me? (Normal voice.) I don’t want to make people unhappy anymore. I don’t want to wash my hands in innocent blood anymore. I want to kill people because……..I feel like it! Not because it’s my next paycheck!

 

(Everyone is silent.)

 

Liu: What’s up with the silence? Did I say something that entertains you?

 

(Everyone shakes their head.)

 

Serena: You really remind me of myself when I was your age. Wanting to be free….

 

(Gato saunters back from being kicked and notices Serena.)

 

Gato: HOT MOMMA! She’s a goddess on earth! I’ve never seen anyone this pretty!

 

(Liu kicks him again, but adds a little bit more force to it.)

 

Sakaki: Serena-san?

Serena: The Tengons were not always this way, it just so happened that we chose a bad road to go down.

 

Sakaki: Is this why….he became the way he was?

 

Serena: Yes it is.

 

Liu: Eh? What are you going on about? Just because you’re a little prettier than me…

 

Sakaki: Serena-san, what do you know about the Tengons and their mission?

 

Serena: I suppose I should tell you, seeing that you have gotten so involved so far.

 

Gato: Oww…..aww man don’t’ tell me we’re about to go into flashback mode….

 

Serena: Not too long ago, we were just a group of travelers trying to find our way…

 

(The scene fades to a barren desert world, even though this place looks unforgiving and inhabitable, groups of people are traveling through it looking apparently for their own place. Upon closer inspection we see that these people are actually a group of Tengons. At their head is the familiar face of Boss Tengon, and at his side is Serena.)

 

Boss Tengon: Ok everyone! We have a lot of ground to cover! So don’t’ get lost and stay close!

 

(The group complies with a group shout.)

 

Boss Tengon: I like that energy! Keep it up! We’ll definitely find a place on this planet just for us!

 

Serena: You certainly know how to keep up group morale. That is a good quality for a leader to have.

 

Boss Tengon: Hehee, I’m only a good leader because you are here! Without you I can’t possibly be as great as I am.

 

(Serena smiles. Suddenly one of the Tengons in the group taps Boss Tengon on his back and points forward.)

 

Tengon: Look ahead! Theres something there!

 

Boss Tengon: What? What’s that?

 

(Truly enough there is a spaceship buried halfway underneath a dune of sand.)

 

Boss Tengon: Hmm, well we could at least check it out.

 

Serena: Are you sure?

 

Boss Tengon: It couldn’t hurt.

 

(So they all go to the spaceship, and see that it was only recently abandoned.)

 

Boss Tengon: Wow, I wonder why they left this here?

 

Tengon2: Hey I recognize this type of model.

 

(The Tengon climbs into the ship and looks around inside.)

 

Tengon2: Whoa you guys should have a look at this!

 

(They all go in and see inside, and while the outside of the ship is buried the inside is pristine, everything still intact.)

 

Boss Tengon: Hmm….

 

Serena: It looks like they abandoned it but left it in almost perfect condition.

 

Boss Tengon: Yeah, but this is just a little too strange….

 

Tengon3: Well if things are like this, why not take it? We could sure use a ship right?

 

(The group begins to murmur among itself.)

 

Boss Tengon: Hold on a second! We won’t result to things like that!

 

Tengon1: But why not? This can help us find our own place sooner!

 

Boss Tengon: No matter how much we need it, taking something that doesn’t belong to us is stealing!

 

Serena: He is right; we really shouldn’t take something like that…

Boss Tengon: We’ve been searching this planet and getting along just fine. We don’t need to result to stealing. Nothing good comes of that.

 

(They all leave the ship, and start walking. Not too long from then it starts to get dark and the group ends up stopping and bedding down for the night. They choose a suitable site and set up tents. Soon everyone is asleep,….well not everyone, because soon Serena comes from her tent to Boss Tengon’s tent where he is still awake.)

 

Serena: Are you still up?

 

Boss Tengon: Yes, I wasn’t able to sleep.

 

Serena: It is the ship that we found isn’t it?

 

Boss Tengon: I just don’t think I have the authority to tell them that we shouldn’t take it, especially how things are going….

 

(Boss Tengon stands and looks Serena in the eye.)

 

Boss Tengon: Lately people have been succumbing to fatigue and sickness. Not to mention the desert climate of this planet isn’t very good on the body especially when walking long distances.

 

Serena: If it is any consolation, I feel that you did the right thing.

 

Boss Tengon: Really?

 

Serena: You said it yourself, that we could defiantly find land out here just for us right? A modern day pilgrimage. The other Tengons back home laughed at this kind of desire, but you used that as your fuel. No matter how bad things got on this journey you never resulted to anything that would bring you regret later. That is one of the qualities that you have that I love so much.

 

Boss Tengon(Blushing): Love?

 

(Unfortunately this moment is soon ruined by a loud humming noise.)

 

Boss Tengon: What’s that?!

 

(One of the Tengons from the group ruins into the tent with a startled expression.)

 

Serena: What is wrong?

 

Tengon: 3 of our own went back and decided to get the ship that was left behind.

 

Boss Tengon: Those fools!!

(He dashes out of the tent and looks into the air. It is true, the ship from earlier is now flying around in the air.)

 

Boss Tengon: What are you guys doing?!

 

(He watches helplessly as the ship flies around for a bit and then lands in front of the camp. The three joyriding Tengon step out all with big grins on their face.)

 

Tengon1: Man I didn’t think we could actually get this thing working.

 

Tengon2: It was a miracle indeed.

 

Tengon3: Then it’s decided! We’re taking this thing with us!

 

(Boss Tengon angrily storms up to Tengon1 and grabs his collar.)

 

Boss Tengon: What were you thinking?! This is direct mutiny you know!!!

 

Tengon2: We’re thinking of everyone else unlike you!

 

Tengon3: With this kind of technology, we could get around so much easier, so what if it’s stealing to get it?

 

(Tengon1 slaps Boss Tengon’s hand away from his collar.)

 

Tengon1: Sometimes you have to do things like this to live! This is the law of the world! We’ve done things your way and what do we have to show for it? You wanted to see if anything excised beyond the Tengon border, and so we followed you believing in this same dream, however all we’ve found is suffering. So we’re taking this ship along with any others who have seen the light!

 

Boss Tengon: You can’t do this! We’ll….

 

(Then another loud humming noise is heard above them and they look upward to see a fleet of ships similar to the one that they found.)

 

Serena: More of them have appeared!

 

Boss Tengon: This can’t be good….

 

(Soon the ships land and the beings who own them come out. They look very similar to birds with beaks instead of lips and clawed feet. The leader scans the Tengons and then begins to say something.)

 

Leader: Who are you people?

 

Boss Tengon: We’re a traveling group…..nothing more.

 

Leader: So where are our people? The ones who were in this ship?

 

Serena: We did not find anyone in that ship. It was empty when we encountered it.

 

Boss Tengon: It’s as she says.

 

Leader: So tell me something. Why is the ship that we tracked to a location several meters down that way (Points to where they all just came from) here with you?

 

Boss Tengon: A few of my partners found the ship and simply wanted to test to see if it works.

 

Leader: You expect us to believe that…..? It had to be you that killed the men on there and thought the ship would make a good trophy!

 

Boss Tengon: Hold on! You can’t…..

 

Leader: It makes sense doesn’t it? And people who do things like this must be punished!

 

Serena: Now it makes sense! The ship wasn’t abandoned but….

 

Leader: It was ransacked. We lost communication with our men and then when we came to track them down we find you here with the ship!

 

(The leader without turning around motions to the group behind him and they take out their rifles.)

 

Boss Tengon: Wait!!

 

Leader: We will punish you. It’s the only way you will understand how serious your crime is!

 

Serena: No! Please wait!!!!!!

 

(Everything slows down at that moment. The bird-people begin to open fire, but to everyone’s surprise, Boss Tengon runs to the Leader, taking a couple of shots to the chest and arms, and tackles him full on. He then takes out a pocketknife and holds it to the leader’s throat.)

 

Boss Tengon: Now if you don’t want to lose your precious leader, back away and let us board this ship.

 

(The other bird-men back away and do allow the Tengons to get on the spare ship. The ship lifts into the air and begins to lift and finally fly away. Their escape is only fleeting because in less than a couple of minutes the others take pursuit of the Tengons.)

Tengon2: What….how were they able to catch up so quickly?

 

Boss Tengon: Its….(Looks at the leader.) You have some kind of tracker on you don’t you?

 

Leader: heh not too bad. Theres no way for you to get the tracker off of me either, so those guys will follow you to hell and back.

 

Tengon group: What should we do? They’ll kill us at this rate…if only….if only we hadn’t had done that….

 

(Boss Tengon in yet another surprising act, eyes a blaster on the floor possibly left by the previous crew of this ship and after a minute of this grabs it and without any hesitation shoots the leader down. There are shocked gasps and murmurs from the Tengon group, as they never thought their kind leader would do something like this.)

 

Boss Tengon: Now the three of you (Speaking to the three joyriders.) Toss him out of this ship so we can get out of here.

 

(The three nod and do as they are told reluctantly. The ship speeds off and the other bird-people can only stop and stare at their now lifeless leader. This news spreads quickly and the legend of the fearsome Tengon group starts. Boss Tengon starts to use his new villain status to change the fate of the Tengon race. No longer are they just a wandering group, but now a scourge of the universe. Liked by few and hated by many. Serena sighs in the present as she recalls these events.)

 

Sakaki: Serena-san….if you didn’t have such an honest…

 

(Gato chimes in.)

Gato: and pretty!

 

Sakaki: Face….. (Groans at his partner.) I wouldn’t believe you….Boss Tengon? A good guy?

 

Serena: I soon fell out of favor with him because I still clung on to the peaceful ways that we embraced so long ago. That’s why I am here. However Sakaki, I have noticed that the minute you became his adversary that he has begun to change.

 

(Sakaki looks intrigued.)

 

Serena: I think your honesty and natural willingness to help others has started to remind him of his old self. There is still hope while you are still alive, and that’s why I put my trust into you.

Sakaki: Serena-san, I will try my best, but I’m not sure what I can do stuck here like this…

 

(On her side suddenly Serena walks over to the bars of her cell, and simply bends them like they were paper. After creating a bend big enough for herself to walk through she comes out as Gato and Liu watch eyes as big as saucer plates.)

 

Liu: Wha….what the hell are you?!

 

Gato: Marry me….

 

Sakaki: Hey! Hey! What’s going on?!

 

(She walks over to Sakaki’s cell and he finally gets to see her face to face. She is wearing a elegant sleeveless dress, and has a very strong but gentle light coming from her blue eyes. Her long blond hair reaches to the middle of her back and she has pale but fair skin. She looks to be a little bit older than Liu, perhaps in her early to mid twenties.)

 

Sakaki: Whoa….Gato wasn’t kidding at all….she is pretty….

 

(She bends the bars on Sakaki’s cell.)

 

Sakaki: WHA---WHAT?!

 

Serena: The Tengon race is naturally a little bit stronger than normal earth folks. I could have left at any time, but I did not want to face him yet.

 

Sakaki: Wait, he put you in this type of cell because…

 

Serena: Yes, he did want to return but he felt like he was too far-gone already.

 

(Then an alarm goes off.)

 

Serena: Oh no…I did not think that they’d put an alarm on your cage, but it makes sense because you are their number one enemy….

 

(Meanwhile Boss Tengon and Dr. Sinister are having their conversation.)

 

Dr. Sinister: Boss-sama…..

 

Boss Tengon: No more hiding, what is your true purpose?

 

Dr. Sinister: What brings about this conversation?

 

Boss Tengon: The more we do the more I get the feeling you’re trying to take over this whole operation. What do you gain from helping me?

(Dr. Sinister is noticeably backed into a corner by these questions. But a saving grace comes as an alarm goes off. It’s the same one that signaled when Sakaki’s cell was opened.)

 

Boss Tengon: That’s coming from the holding cell!

 

Dr. Sinister: We should go look at it now.

 

(The two of them run to the holding cell and see Serena freeing Sakaki. Dr. Sinister glares at Serena and then smiles a smile of evil so profuse that it literally is dripping venom. Boss Tengon doesn’t notice as he stares at Serena.)

 

Boss Tengon: Why? Why are you helping him?

 

Serena: He’s the closest person to bringing you back to yourself. I know it. You must become the old tengon I knew and once…once had feelings for.

 

Boss Tengon: But I’ve already gone too far….I can’t go back…

 

Serena: There’s always a chance to repent if you are really sorry. Just please become yourself!

 

(Boss Tengon starts to be swayed by her words until Sakaki notices something behind him.)

 

Sakaki: Hey! Look out!

 

(Dr. Sinister has a rifle pointed at Serena’s head, and Sakaki begins to jump in to save her but is still too weak to do so.)

 

Sakaki: Damn!!

 

(Liu suddenly dashes in front of Sakaki and stands in front of Boss Tengon and Serena.)

 

Liu: I have no idea what I’m doing….but if its gonna help Sakaki-kun I’ll do it!

 

Dr. Sinister: A mutiny?

 

Serena: You can change, just believe in yourself!

 

Sakaki: Serena-san….

 

(Liu turns around and smiles back at Sakaki.)

 

Liu: Looks like you bring out the best in everyo---

 

(Liu then falls over unconsus.)

 

Sakaki: Hey! What’s wrong?!

 

(A Tengon guard has come from the other corridor, and opens fire on them.)

 

Sakaki: Stop it!

 

Gato: Hey! Knock it off already!

 

(Sakaki readies all the strength he has, and lifts the midnight blade to try and stop the guard, and he is about to when a blast hits a wall and ricochets causing sparks to fly and this temporarily blinds Sakaki.)

 

Sakaki: Augh!!!!!

 

(He stops in mid-dash and tries to collect himself. Dr. Sinister smiles his smile of darkness again and then speaks.)

 

Dr. Sinister: Now this way! This will stop him for sure!

 

(Sakaki hears Dr. Sinister’s voice and then tries to go towards him. Dr. Sinister then takes his own Rifle and points it at the wayward Sakaki. He fires it causing another ricochet, thus more sparks and in the insuing chaos takes Sakaki’s midnight blade from him. He then stands in front of Serena, who is no longer under Boss Tengon’s watch because he is blinded. Dr. Sinister smiles and then mouths “goodbye” to her. Serena is about to yell out but is stopped by Dr. Sinister stabbing deep into her abdomen. In one swift motion he slashes the sword outward, and watches her fall to the ground. He then tosses the blade at Sakaki’s feet and goes to Boss Tengon’s side. In a minute everyone has their bearings back, and Dr. Sinister plays the part of a shocked witness.)

 

Dr. Sinister: I can’t believe it……!

 

Boss Tengon: What? Wh---

 

(Boss Tengon’s mouth opens in an “O” shape. He stares at the once beautiful Serena’s body, now nothing more than a corpse. He bends down and scoops her into his arms, pleading with her not to leave him.)

 

Boss Tengon: Serena! Please! I will change! Just for you! Just please don’t go!!

 

(She opens her eyes one more time and says something silently into his ear. Then her body falls limp. Never to exist on this plane again. Boss Tengon puts her down slowly, and then notices the bloody midnight blade on the floor and Sakaki who has just gotten his sight back. He sees the midnight blade and Serena’s body, and immediately stands to his feet.)

 

Sakaki: Serena-san?!? Who……

 

(Sakaki turns and looks back to where the guard once was. He is gone now, oddly enough, and its at this moment Sakaki realizes everything.)

 

Sakaki: SINISTER! You planned this! I KNOW IT!

 

(He picks up the midnight blade and begins to run towards him. However Boss Tengon steps in front of him and lands a HUGE blow to his stomach. Sakaki goes flying back and lands on the floor beside Gato.)

 

Gato: Huh?! I couldn’t see for a second and….(sees Serena) MAMA NOOOOOOOO! Who did that?!

 

Dr. Sinister: I am very sorry Boss-sama….

 

(Boss Tengon glares at Sakaki with unbridled fury. Sakaki struggles to his feet and stares at him.)

 

Sakaki: Please…..it wasn’t me you’ve got to---

 

Boss Tengon: SAKAKI! YOU, ME! A MATCH TO THE DEATH! NOW!!!!!

 

(Sakaki grits his teeth. He knows that with his injuries, Liu injured in front of him, a powerless Gato beside him, a furious Boss Tengon staring him down, and the ever-scheming Dr. Sinister playing puppetmaster that the odds are SEVERELY against him. This very well could be the end of the string of luck that Sakaki has encountered while on the Tengon mothership. More than that the end of his adventures, the hope of saving Atsuko, and very well his life.)

Sakaki: Yo! Sakaki here, man this next one is seriously hard core! In the blue corner you have your ordinary hero me! And in the red corner is one ticked off Boss Tengon in a super mech! How the heck can I manage to win against that when Grawl’s fight just passed me by?!

 

Gato: Hmm, well you could always use a super potion to recharge yourself.

 

Sakaki: Yeah!!……………..NO! This isn’t a video game moron!

 

Gato: Well you could always die and come back or something.

 

Sakaki: I’d like it if you put that Game boy advance down while you’re talking to me.

 

Gato: Or even better. Hit all buttons at once and come back where you last saved.

 

Sakaki: That’s it, nothing but adventure games for you for now on.
