This is a summary of Greyashe Episode 15

OP: OUTRUNNER

ED: Talim

Chapters Covered: 29 & 30

On a winter evening, a maiden whose skin was as white as freshly fallen snow was born to a happy witch couple. The father was so enamored by his new daughter that he didn't even think twice about her fair pale skin, and bewitching deep purple eyes. Unfortunately Tragedy works despite the season, and the man is without a wife, and the baby without a mother. The pregnancy had taken its toll on the poor woman.

Barely four years later, a group of WITCHES return battered and beaten. A simple mission of reconsance had gone dreadfully wrong....their enemies 'Challengers of Eternity' had ambushed them. A group of fifteen WITCHES had been reduced to a band of five. Among the lives taken was the life of the maiden's father. She truly was like a snowflake now...free from worldly bonds....but without anyone to admire her.

Kanesia is looking for Peter. She calculates the time she was knocked out to now, and knows that since she broke one of his Incantations, he'd probably try to have it fixed before he leaves town and ventures into the unknown. She begins her search by visiting as many of the magic specialty shops in the area, and asking around for anyone that fits his description. She only allows herself to think of the mission at hand, although she does slip and give thought to Van and the goddess killer. She begins to wonder how the two of them met, and why they'd be traveling together, but stops when she stands in front of a large condo. The wind direction has changed here....against it's will.

The maiden sits against a tree, the shapes of the people walking by and thoughtlessly asking themselves what kind of world would leave a child on her own, all the while doing nothing to help. She nods to herself accepting her fate, her solitude causing her to grow beyond her years. Her eyes were weak since her birth, so she's settled with only seeing black figures, souls without hearts. Suddenly though someone is standing in front of her. Without provocation (or permission) her hair is ruffled. And then a voice. The person asks her if she would like to be his daughter. More voices. They ask how he could possibly hope to take care of a child who's existence is obviously a bad omen? Magic doesn't care for her, so she cannot use it; sunlight harms her so she has to go out at night, and most of all her parents had both died before she had even become ten years old. An angry voice. He asks them if they'd want their children uncared for if they were to die. Were her parents not fellow WITCHES? Was she not a human being like the rest of them? Silence, his questions like balloons that rise in the air and shatter against unprepared ears. He then asks her again if she wants to be his daughter. She tells him that the words of the people are true. She cannot use magic. He proclaims that he doesn't care. She says that she's cursed. He concurs that he curses a lot. She cannot go outside during the day. He promises to buy her a flashlight. She finally asks why he doesn't hate her like the rest do. Silence. He asks her again if she wants to be his daughter. The maiden would never understand the reasoning behind her actions, even far into her adolescence, but she accepts. A smile. He then pokes her in her eyes, and after she recoils in shock and pain she realizes she can see the world. He is handsome, young. His voice resounds much more now that she can see the face that goes with it. He replies to her question, saying that her parents were his friends, and friendship doesn't end just because Death dropped his dice.

Kanesia is on the roof of the condo, and glances back and forth, trying to get an idea of Peter’s location. She hears a whistle, and then ducks. Nearby a rafter explodes into tiny pieces, and she realizes that Peter lead her here on purpose. She avoids several more blasts of compressed winds, before realizing that although he can hide his presence and magic flow, the incantation itself is like a match in the darkness, instead of sparks of flame however, magic sparks outward. She then takes a deep breath and tosses her staff behind her. Peter notices this and takes a chance, diving down from his hiding spot and towards her using a wind flow. She surprises him when she flicks her wrist, and the top part of her staff flies forward like a yo-yo. He ducks, but it still grazes his cheek. He lands and just barely avoids three more strikes from her staff that she quickly resembled after it had grazed him. She proclaims that she is here to end his life as a traitor to the WITCH organization. Out of morbid curiosity however, she asks Peter why he became a traitor in the first place. He states that he doesn't like how the current WITCH is being run, especially with the inclusion of certain members, and that things have spiraled out of control since he died. She narrows her eyes and asks what he meant by that comment. Peter reveals that many of the WITCHES dislike her because of the role she took in 'that person's death.' So in essence, she has been running missions for a group of people who cannot stand her. Kanesia doesn't seem bothered by this and states her undying loyalty to the WITCHES. He asks how she can possibly be serious when she's already on thin ice with the organization? The only reason why she was even allowed to stay was because of his influences, and her current status is precarious at best. She has no right to anything as she took the lives of three of the WITCHES top members. As if in apology, Peter recants his last statement, saying that he realizes that her father and mothers lives were not her fault. He does however proclaim that if it weren't for her that man would still be alive. He asks her why she hasn't just left since that time, and she then says that she has stayed with the organization because she plans to destroy it. Peter is shocked at first, and then sneers asking if this is what the demon's true intentions were all along. In a shocking change of events, he stands and then proclaims he will destroy HER for betraying what WITCH stands for.

The maiden, her Savior and a Young Peter pursue an enemy through a forest at night. The enemy uses the darkness to his advantage and hides in a thicket. The maiden tells the two men that she will pursue the enemy, and the Savior agrees with the condition that he follows her too. Young Peter claims that he should be the one to accompany the Savior citing that he has just mastered using the wind incantation. The Savior tells him that his power is better suited for back up, and that the maiden is perfect for night time missions, since she cannot venture into sunlight. The maiden and the Savior pursue the enemy, but are soon separated. The maiden is the first to meet the enemy, and as she has no choice engages him in battle. The enemy is surprised to see her, as he set up a barrier to keep those who use magic out. He quickly finds that magic does not care for her so she cannot use it, but on the contrary it is this same condition that keeps certain type of magic from being effective on her. Nonetheless she is captured by the enemy, who then delves into her mind to find out more about her ability (or lack thereof.) He finds some suppressed thoughts, and on an evil whim brings them forward.

Meanwhile the Savior is trying his hardest to break into the barrier, to the point that his body begins to ache. Magic is refuting his advances. Finally he swears an oath to himself, and the magic curses through his body and his vision flashes white. Once his blinder has been lifted he dashes into the area and finds the enemy has just let the maiden go. He goes to her and asks if she's okay, but to his surprise she begins to cackle and curse the WITCHES who abandoned her, and the goddesses who had taken her family leaving her with nothing. The enemy reveals that these are her inner thoughts, and that he just brought them to the forefront of her consciousness. The Savior smiles weakly and whispers something in her ear, and then engages the enemy in battle. The maiden regains control of her consciousness to witness the Savior defeat the enemy and then drop to his knees. She screams in horror and runs to his side begging him not to leave. The Savior can only repeat over and over to her that 'he's happy with this choice' and then fades from this world. Young Peter appears on the scene, becoming too worried to wait as his master had told him. He has magic awareness, and only has to glance at the scene in front of him to realize what happened. The Savior had not been killed by the enemy, but by his own magic. His efforts to break into the barrier had raised his magic's ire, and so he swore that all of his affection, his admiration, his love would be for the maiden. The magic in return struck him down out of spite. The maiden was now a physical manifestation of his feelings.

Peter asks Kanesia to repeat what she said for clarity's sake. She tells him without hesitation that she will destroy the WITCHES with her own two hands, and then build it back up as it would have been if the Savior was still alive. Peter calls her a fool, abashing her. The Savior would have been elected leader to the WITCHES had he lived that day, and the corrupt and self serving WITCHES of the present would be nothing but a bad dream. He asks her how she can possibly think she has any right to lead them when it is inadvertently her fault that the organization is in it's sorry state. Perhaps it was her intention to destroy the WITCHES in the first place? She responds by lowering her staff. Peter takes this as an act of attrition, and prepares his twin incantations, one on each hand. He is surprised to see that the winds have now split in three, one for each hand, and one stream for her staff. Kanesia lifts her staff into a battle stance and tells him it is because she loves WITCH so much that she will destroy it, sparing it any more embarrassment and misery. The only reason why she is still a member of the organization right now is because the first man she ever loved would have wanted her here. Taking her staff and swinging it once, then twice in preparation, she asks Peter if he is ready for the winds of the new WITCH. She warns him that if he is not prepared and still accepts this battle, that he will be torn apart by the future.
